Default Archery: first time 6 year old bow and first time hunting bow.

This week I went to the Archery Range for the first time with my 6 year old son. My son loved it and want to go back next week. It was both of our first time with a bow. My question is what would a good bow for my son that would be reasonable price? Also what what would be a good reasonable price hunting bow for a first timer?
    Thank you,
    Nick.

Wow is that a big question. My bow is a Bear AuSable... and I enjoy it more than I can say. Most of the other guys that hunt bow with me use some kind of compound... so the war between trad and modern bow hunters is still going strong

I lost count how many bows I tried before I found one that I could shoot without thinking, etc.. just the right weight, just perfect for me.

The best one is going to be the one you can shoot... but if you want a sweet longbow.. find one like mine and give it a try.

I will be following this thread. I do not have input, but am interested. I plan on buying my daughter a bow in the next year (she is 5 now) and would love to see some recommendations. I doubt that I will having her hunt this soon, but I want to get her started practicing. I, myself, have a crossbow and do not know a lot about compounds.

Parker makes decent bows for the money, IIRC made in the USA and lifetime warranty.

I am left hand and shot a bear traditional bow. It had a 45 pound pull and was long then most in length. The actual bow looked like a cross section of a piano. I really like it. It was simple and smooth. I felt very confirtable shooting it. I am just wondering it is good to use for hunting?

I'm a south paw as well.
45lb IMO is a bit light, but still quite capable of dropping a deer @20-25yds.
So long as you can place good shots consistently. That's the game.

This site will give you all the current rules:

    http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal...=968783&mode=2

But minimum draw weight is 35#, so your bow is fine and legal. I hunt with a 55# long bow myself, and for me, no other type of hunting comes close.

I picked up a Diamond razor edge by Bowtech. It adjusts from 19''-29'' and from 29lb-60lb so it is almost infinity adjustable. I picked mine up at Cabela's in the bargain cave $200 even out the door!!!! Brand new I'm also new to archery/ bow hunting
