    Default M57 Tokarev

Just got a new M57 Tokarev yesterday. I thought I read that they had a half cock. Mine does not. Was this only on the milsurp original Toks? It does have a well made factory safety.

I have a tt33 and half cock is almost at firing position, cock hammer pull trigger riding it home release trigger before it fully drops. It should stay there unload it and play with it a few times if you hold the trigger it will hit the firing pin

I'll try that. I was trying to find it on the cocking stroke versus release. I have shot a friends TT33 and although the look the same (with the exception of the longer grip on mine) I wasn't sure if all the internals were the same as a M57.

Yeah, I have a couple M57's and the "half" cocked is more like a "one fifth" cocked - lol. I never use the position so when I read your post and tried mine, I was amazed at how close to hammer down it was! Love the 7.62x25 round - glad I picked up 1,000+ before the craze! Congrats and enjoy yours............

Just verified. No half cock. All the way back or hammer completely down. Mine is the one with the safety on the slide.

Ahhh, ok. Mine are surplus with the safety added to the frame to make them legal to import.
