Default Best place to shoot near Slippery Rock?

    Hi everyone,

I'm moving to Slippery Rock and I am looking for a place to practice my pistol shooting. I have looked at the list of ranges by county, but I've always shot indoors and I'm having a hard time figuring out which outdoor range might be best. It looks like my options for indoor pistol shooting are limited outside of Pittsburgh.

    Thanks so much

Pardoe in Grove City has an indoor range for members as well as multiple outdoor pistol bays. Castlewood is near the 79/422 crossover and has both, but indoor range time is limited. Both are friendly clubs and shoot USPSA.

Castlewood shoots outside every Thursday for action pistol and is open to the public. Free your first time then $5 for target costs.

BTW, you have two USPSA clubs and two IDPA clubs within an easy 40 min of you.

As long as you aren't into slow fire, you hit the jackpot.

Butler - Moraine Sportsmans Club on Staff Rd, and Slippery Rock Sportsmans Club on Keister Rd are both right off Rt 422.

Im not from the area but have been to events at both. They seem like decent clubs. Both have 25 yard outdoor pistol ranges.
