since 183 closed down ive been going to archbald.

Its a longer drive but its worth it, the 200 yard range is nice and I get to shoot trap which is always a must lol.

I did some shooting today. Although the backstops were better than they have been in a long time, they haven’t cut the grass in a while. The 100 yard range was almost ass high, 50 was about 2’ and 25 would have been the same if it had grass.

I checked out Archbald SGL 300 on our way to dinner in {GASP} Dixon City {GASP} yesterday. It was nice and clean, well cropped and in-tact backstops. The 100 and 200 yard benches are covered and parking is only about 20’ from the firing line. The handgun section has 2 tables to setup your range gear on, but no benches. There were only 2 - 50 yard benches. The shotgun area looks OK with easy access, bring your own thrower. All in all, a nicer place than 183.

    Hey Snert,

    New Pistol???

Hmm, Dyberry sounds like a reasonable ride, is that on 4007 (SGL 159)? The PA Game Commission web site doesn’t list shotgun areas. I ordered a CZ 452 Varmint from Advanced Arms, it should be in this week. Although I will most definitely try it out before next week, if you want to plan a Dyberry trip next Monday… Maybe Mike may want to join us??

I could probably swing a Monday. Dyeberry is my favorite range. Honesdale is a bitch to get through now with all the construction but I know a few shortcuts. It's usually never crowded. For some reason I ran into NJians once. I found it rather odd. Especially since it's in the middle of nowhere. They even cut the grass out there.

200 yd range @ Archbold is tempting. My buddy who was going to come last time works m-f and only has weekends off. Oh well. What time do you want to meet @ dyeberry?

College tuition has been taking a nice chunk out of my wallet. It's killing my "new gun" purchase. I wanted to get a PS-90 or FS2000. I'm still waiting for that shitty stimulus check. I may end up just getting a plinker P-22.

I was at 183 today, and they actually cut the grass.
They must have done it last night ( afternoon), cause I was there yesterday morning, and it wasn’t cut then.
It was a nice day at the range, hanging out with regulars, a group of old timers that meet there every Tuesday.
What ever you do, do not give info on Daybery range, lets keep it a secret as long as possible.
    Best
