    Default 1911 in 9mm whats your preference?

    I have recently ordered a Dan Wesson point man 9mm. I know I will not see this pistol for a while. Right now I have a Rock Island 22tcm and 9mm combo. I have had nothing but fun with this pistol. I want another single stack to go with my pm9 so any suggestions? I want to stay under 1300 not adverse to used.

    I have two PT 1911's in 9mm (identical, parkerized) that I preferred because I got them for $1070 OTD for both. I have given both of them the 'redneck customs' enhancements and have yet to have to replace any parts, though I have to put a hammer in one of them because I took a little too much off of the hooks. There is no hammer follow, but the hammer does not go back at all before it drops with the trigger pull...something that I do not like, and there isn't enough left to correct it. Anyway, I got them shooting pretty well and will call them keepers, for sure. They are natural speed shooters, as well. Great for plate and pin shooting.
    BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

    My preference for a 1911 in 9mm is a 1911 in .38 Super.

    Smith & Wesson Pro-Series 1911. Right at the $1300 mark new. Got mine ANIB for a couple hundred less. Superb gun that loves my 125 grain lead reloads.

    The Taurus PT-1911-9 is a pretty darned nice pistol for the money. $525 blued, $640 stainless. Built better than just about ant gun Taurus ever made.

    Edited: Sorry, forgot you specified 9mm. I've read a lot of guys don't like SA 9mms'. Besides, everybody should have at least one 1911 in 45acp. Maybe you already do.
    STI makes some nice 9mm 1911s'. Spartan and Trojan come to mind.

    Springfield Armory has some nice offerings and you get an actual lifetime warranty with them. Bright side is, you'll probably never need to use it.
    If you don't mind adj. sights, the SA RO is as solid as they come in the sub 1000 dollar range. {45acp}

    Yeah, if you already have a Rock Island, and STI would be my choice, or maybe a Para, pretty sure they make a 9mm.

    I have a 9mm 1911 Springfield, front in the picture. The one behind is the one to get if you can find one. A S&W 952. It will shoot under 2" @ 50 yards. Good luck with the Dan Wesson. They make a fine pistol.

    If I had $1300 it would be the Trojan.

    That's assuming I couldn't scratch up $600 more and get another Eagle......
