Retaining pin
Hello:
I have finished cleaning my AR, and while re-assembling the bolt carrier I cannot for the life of me get the firing pin retaining pin back into the bolt carrier! It seems as if the pin won't stay compressed and get all the way in... Has anyone faced this issue before, and if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears!
Regards,
Rodeno

Re: Retaining pin
Twist it in, like a screw. You shouldn't have to compress anything, just put it in the hole, twist and push. (I know, that's what she said)

Re: Retaining pin
Twisting usually works,if not, try "sharpening" it. Just use a stone and give it a short bevel.

Re: Retaining pin
You can "screw" it in, but go online to Brownells and order a half dozen for six bucks. When I need something small, I usually buy a few.

Re: Retaining pin
Thanks guys! I actually used a tiny knife to push the one side down inside the carrier to get it to go in fully! I never had the issue before and was drivin me nuts!
