Default Using a semi auto weapon to hunt

Ok so I know that we are allowed semi auto shotguns but why not rifles?

Because we have ancient hunting laws, It wasn't too many years ago that a flintlock was the only muzzleloader allowed same with crossbows.

Heck even Communist California allows their residents to hunt and trap with semi auto!

I guess they think you will turn the poor deer to swiss cheese. Anyone interested in pushing new legislation to get this changed?

It definitely would save me money in not having to go out and buy a bolt action .22 if I wanted to get into hunting.

I have this perfect small game 'pistol'... a ruger charger setup with a good red-dot sight... perfect for the little guys... and it steams my clams every season I can't hunt with it.

Where do I send the letter to as for a change again

I would much rather be able to hunt with semi auto rifles than hunt on a Sunday. It is nice to be able to go out fishing or scouting around Sunday with less chance of getting shot. Also is good for sitting around eating and drinking beer.

Because the push against it would be huge from both within and without the hunting community if such a thing were to be pursued.

Remember, changes like this don't come from PGC, they come from politicians. Why would any politician want to push for something that will bring a bunch of flak on themselves, when there is next to no gain for success?

You'll have a hard time finding a champion for the semi-auto centerfield or rim fire cause.

When you think about things like this, remember that you need a politician to 1. Take up your proposal, and 2. Lobby like crazy for it. Think of how hard the opposite side will lobby against it, and then it becomes pretty clear why things are the way they are.

And this is the type of attitude that will prevent us from ever hunting with our semis or on Sunday.
