Open Carry at Hometown Walmart
I figured i would share this with everyone being as it is my very first encounter while open carrying. I have been open carrying for awhile now and have had many people stare and get bug eyes as well as people who glance and either look away or smile.
While on my way home from working third shift this morning the girlfriend called and told me to stop at walmart and get stuff for her to make breakfast. When i walked in i went directly to the sporting goods section and glanced at the ammo rack (not much there of course) i than proceeded to walk across the store to the grocery side and decided i would stop in the restroom. while walking in an employee was walking out and stopped in his tracks when he saw me. as i walked by i said "good morning sir" and received no response.
I came back out of the restroom and the employee was on the phone at the photo counter and all i over heard was him say "Yes im serious". I pretty much ignored it and continued over to the grocery isle when the same employee came up behind me and asked me to stop.
the conversation went something like this,
E 1, excuse me
Me, Yes
E 1, Are you suppose to have that in here
Me, If you are referring to my pistol than yes i am
E 1, Well i have a manager on her way over because i dont think you are
Me, Thats fine i will wait, but in the state of pennsylvania it is legal to open carry and i didnt see any signs on my way in stating that Wal Mart didnt allow it, and i have open carried in here countless times before
E 1, That may be but i still dont think you can carry that in here,
At this time im assuming what was an assistant manager showed up and asked what was going on. the employee satted his concern and the assistant manager told him that it was legal for me to carry it within the store as long as it is kept holstered. The employee was very displeased with this answer and turned around and went back to work. the assistant manager apologized for the trouble and shook my hand. I wish i could pronounce her name let alone spell it. but that was pretty much the end of the encounter. she walked away and i continued shopping.

^ What does any of this have to do with any part of the encounter that would interest us here at PAFOA?
The manager KNEW her stuff (the employee didn't). The employee got educated. Shouldn't matter if the manager spoke Aluet.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mK2JYfZAmA When will America become America?

Re: Open Carry at Hometown Walmart
essentially it doesnt matter, i believe he was referring to he fact that i couldnt spell her name. the only reason i said that is because it would of been nice to post on here for any other people who happen to walk through there or have a similar problem.

It sounds like the manager knew her policies, which is nice to see and hear.
...and they have a plan...

Re: Open Carry at Hometown Walmart
Because he said he didn't get her name because he couldn't pronounce it.
Did you know, Hispanics, Germans, Indians, French, Israelis, Arabs, West Africans, and all foreigners find it interesting to figure out where people are from and/or what their national heritage is? And find it interesting that certain types of people tend to do certain types of things or work for certain companies in their countries, other countries, and our country? And consider that "culture?"
I honestly don't have a problem with culture, either.
