    Default 22TCM Fireballs

A few weeks ago my wife purchased a RIA 22TCM to use in IDPA -- in its 9mm conversion.

We have had TCM ammo on order from a local shop for awhile now but it seems the supply is worse than 22LR at this time. Last week I got lucky and came across a website that had a few boxes in stock ... they arrived yesterday

Interesting that the fireballs did not seem to manifest on every shot - unless that was an illusion caused by the camera. I doubt that was the case and would think that the incidence of fireball display may have been related to variations in the bullet crimp. Tighter crimp allowed all the powder to be consumed within the barrel, while a looser crimp would allow burning powder to exit the muzzle thus creating the fireballs.

    What say you?

The camera didnt pickup every flash (in this particular video, just the last shot) -- there most certainly was for each round fired.

Nothing like a 40 grain projectile traveling around 2000 fps from a 5" barrel

Camera's don't always catch the flash due to how quickly it happens. If it's there, it's there.

I was waiting for someone to notice that. They get launched a good 8 feet - and quite consistently too (note the brass bag placed in the general area to make collection easier - wasnt about to leave one of those cases behind!)
