It would be long overdo ! I get my N Y license also just to have the entire weekend available for hunting ! Think what Pa could do with the little extra chargeing our license fee and letting people hunt sundays !

I think their Constitutional arguments are a real stretch.

If the hunters really want to allow hunting on Sunday, I think they should exempt state parks. That way, the hikers, mountain bikers etc. would get onboard.

This I would be good with. With my work schedule, Sundays are the best days for me to hunt.

I agree the unconstitutional argument is quite a stretch. But with the game commission saying they are good with it if the legislature ok's it why shouldn't it be allowed? Why has it been outlawed all this time to begin with? Religious reasons? Part of me thinks its a great idea, it would pretty much double my hunting time in deer season (like most of you i work at least 5 days a week) The other part of me, the part that has hunted around lake ontelaunee ( I call that area the war zone) on opening day thinks its beneficial to give the deer a little break on Sunday.

As far as I've been taught, deer aren't particularly religious, so what's to say they wouldn't enjoy an nice Wednesday or Thursday off? You see, my point is that I believe that if Sunday hunting is available, not only will hunter participation increase overall as well as on Sunday, i believe there will be a corresponding drop in hunter participation during the "regular work week."

The farm bureau seems to be the biggest opponent to Sunday hunting.

Additionally, there would probably be fewer people "sick" during the week, resulting in increased economic productivity.

I have a feeling that number won't change all that much. Three days hunting is always better than two days, IMO!

Unbelieveable. Thousands of hunters screaming "No deer!" and they want another day. I don't get to hunt the way I used to either since I changed jobs. I just live with it. I don't hunt private land, but those that do better think twice about pushing Sunday hunting. I try to hunt West Virginia every year I can. They tried Sunday hunting (On private property only) and it did not last long. Problems there maybe?
