XD45S / Any thoughts on this one?
Thinking about getting a 45. I currently have and carry a Springfield XD9. So, I was looking at the XD45S. Was wondering if anyone had one and what your thoughts are on them.

Re: XD45S / Any thoughts on this one?
Is this the XDs45 compact? or a different Model Springfield. I own an XDs45 and so far it's been 100% - Of course finding Ammo to shoot through it that doesn't wipe out my 401k and 403B combined, Is a whole different story altogether.
I've had mine for about 6 months and only about 150 rounds thru it, so it's still on it's break-in period. Overall I really like it, Initially I was looking for a Glock 36sf and stumbled upon this, The XDs has it all over the Glock's for size. Since I bought it to use as a carry gun, I went XDs, It's actually pretty comfortable to carry, But during the super hot weather here I went back to carrying a 9mm - Cooler Weather and it'll be 100% XDs for me.
I don't think you can go wrong with a Springfield or a Glock for that matter, It just depends on how comfortable you feel with it, If I still lived in PA I'd say come over and try it, But I'm at least 4 hours away nowadays.
Good Luck

Re: XD45S / Any thoughts on this one?
I carry the XDS in 45 for several months now and have put many many rounds through it. It is a snappy gun to say the least and only holds 5+1 (thus my addition of the HK usp40c to my carry rotation. 12+1 rounds of 40 with a decocker for a minimal increase in size), but you can't beat the size (no one sees it even in shorts and t-shirts) and still accurate enough to certify with. Excellent gun, only issue I have had was with the 7 round magazine (it likes to double feed with that one only).

snappy little gun but certainly manageable imo
when you shoot gold dot +p you know it
capacity is on par with the pocket .380s
site picture is nice and trigger is crisp
have heard bad things about the extended mags but have no experience
lots of good iwb holsters entering the market
best mix of power and concealability imo
no regretsMontani Semper Liberi

Picked up the XDs in .45 a few months back. I gotta say, I love it. Very concealable in just about anything I wear, even a tux or suit. Is it snappy? Yes. Is it accurate? Yes.
I am coming from a G23 as EDC gun and the size change is more than welcome. I too was looking at the slimline Glock in .45, but really fell in love with the feel and balance of the XDs. 100% recommend it.
