High velocity 9mm ammunition?
I'd like to hear what anyone has to say about high velocity 9mm ammunition. Seems to be mostly low-weight projectiles.

Re: High velocity 9mm ammunition?
It is crap for defense. The penetration is much less than optimal and the bullets typically fragment. Recently tnoutdoors9 did a review on youtube of the "Halo Defense" 9mm 50 grain hollowpoint cruising at about 2000 fps. The bullet shattered and sis not penetrate very far into ballistic gel.
The ultra light bullets are a gimmick and have been around for a very long time. They do not work nearly as well as the tried and true 115 and 124 grain high tech defensive rounds from Hornady, Speer, Winchester and Remington.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Federal HSTs, Speer Gold Dots, Winchester Ranger and T-series all work just fine. 115 +p, 115 +p+, 124 +p, and 127 +p+ will do their jobs if you do yours. Not everyone can accurately shoot +p+ rounds, but a 124 grain +p round should be just fine.

If you consider 1400fps "high velocity," check out Underwood Ammo.
