Exclamation My right to shoot in my own 4.7 acre back yard

I own 4.7 acres in Tulpehoken Township, Berks County. My closest neighbor is 300 yards away. My house is on the side of a ravine, 100 yards across. We shoot on the weekends downward about 15 degrees at targets placed close to the other side of the ravine. We shoot; AK47, .223, 30.06, 32, 410 & 12 gauge .17cal. 22 long & mag, 38, 380, 7mm mag, black powder rifles and pistols, oh don't forget my brothers Holland and Holland eliphent gun (KA-BOOM). not all at the same event and never more then 20 minutes. No ones house is even remotely in the line of fire the closest house is about 250 yards from the backstop at 75 degrees and 2 oclock right. We never shoot on or after dusk. None of my guests are aloud to drink before shooting. All must obey strict safety rules. Most of these guys are US Army.

So what is my problem? Well I have been getting more and more new neighbors and they are starting to threnten to call the cops. they yell things like "we're zoned residentcial you jackass" and "knock it off we have kids over here". The worst complaner is a man that used to hunt deer on my property before I bought it. If I shoot to little they go nuts over ONE SHOT! if I shoot too much they want to go Ruby Ridge on me!

I think I should invide the local cops to come over and pop off a few rounds to put it to rest.

If your township does not have a noise ordinance, you should be fine as long as you have a safe backstop.

Yea tell me about it... i live here

    http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTEx...C%20pa%2017517

and have been shooting for years. now every time i shoot local pd shows up. the last 2 times I had 2 local officers shooting with me and numerous officers from other departments. I had a police radio on and you hear “78 units be advised shots fired 1400 blk s co calico rd possible automatic weapons fire” responding officers kind of joke with us, look around and leave...

The neighbor who called it in was pissed just because of my 300 weatherby mag.... give me a break he shoots all the time and down into MY woods.

I own all the woods around the place including around the houses in the area.

Let them call law enforcement all they want ill have food and drinks for them waiting next time.

I think my neighbors who hopefully read this are just pissed because my pool is bigger then their house and im half their age.

If there is no local ordinance, then you should be fine. However, be prepared for the neighbors to get to a point where they will go and complain to your local government in order to get you to stop.

I don't believe there is a "right" to discharge firearms, it is up to the local municipality.

I would just make sure there are no incidents for them to complain about and use as "ammo" against you. They might try and claim negligent acts, rounds landing on their property, being threatened, etc.
