I realize this was tongue in cheek but here are the guidelines for cleaning a Glock:

    1. When it is new, believe it or not
    2. After every time you shoot it
    3. Monthly
    4. As necessary

Just about any of the popular nitrate based gun cleaning agents are fine but NEVER get WD-40 anywhere near a Glock.

Use all cleaning agents and lubrications sparingly.

That is according to the instructor of my Glock armorer's class, who has worked for Glock for over 20 years.

I clean my G23 after every range visit. Kano Aerokroil is my solvent/lubrication of choice. I find it is an excellent cleaner, and rust preventative.

To clean I disassemble the entire slide, soak the firing pin, safety pin, and ejector in Kroil. Clean the barrel, the slide, and the recoil spring.

Once all is clean, I wipe off all of the oil I applied, ensuring everything is dry to the touch. Then I use a small dab of Anti Seize grease, that is infused with copper to lubricate the points of the slide where the factory grease was.

I have no issues with this method, and I have found there is no wear on the slide so far.

all the info you need is already here, just want to plus the kroil product it works great. kroil is also usefull for soaking to remove rust. honestly i don,t over clean my glocks, every couple hundred rounds or so and a wipe down at every session. the only exception is whichever i,m carrying with(don,t want any malfunctions) you know mr murphy is allways close so keep your carry gun clean. and don,t forget to test fire the carry piece before betting your life on it. a bad reassembly could be hazzardous, it happens. happy shooting, red dog
