Looking for a <25 yard pistol range . . .
Hi all,
I'm looking for a range in or near Berks that offers a pistol range of some sort less than 25 yards. For practicing self defense type shooting, this is just way too far of a shot.
I go to Palmyra Sportsmen's, but that is a long drive with the current cost of gas, so I'd like to find a range closer to home.
Thanks for any help!

I go to a local range right up the road from me they have a 25 yard but its dead there most of the time and people stand at 7 or 10 yards to shoot I stop out there about once a week to look for brass and I normally find a couple laying around there.

We shoot at Perry Township Game Association.
Nice covered firing positions, with ranges of 10, 15, 25, 50, & 100 yards. The rules do say no semi-auto rapid fire, and you can only use paper targets on the provided stands. $20 for the first year, $10 yr thereafter.

MASA has firing lines at 5,10,15,25,50. You can pretty much shoot anywhere as long as you are not in front of somebody else shooting.

+1 on MASA.
If you come to the MASA Fun Shoot on Saturday June 7th, you can pay $15 to join the club for the calendar year and shoot all day. Hamburgers and hotdogs included. Rain date is Sunday June 8th.
They'll have the trap range open and some William Tell contests for the archers. All kinds of pistol and rifle shooting events too! Don't miss it!

I've heard MASA is off limits to members a lot due to the police using the range. . is this true?

What's a lot? You can check the link above for yourself.
You just need to remember to check the link before you go.
Remember, it's a $15 dollar membership fee for the whole calendar year! What is an hour of range time at Gun Gallery or French Creek?

Re: Looking for a <25 yard pistol range . . .
During the week the police do use it quite a bit in nice weather but since most people shoot on the weekend its not usually a problem. The link on the website is not always updated properly though which is my only gripe. I have gone there a few times during the week when it is supposed to be open only to find they changed it and the police were using it.(I think they just don't like citizens shooting better than them )
Good range though and there is hardly ever anyone there so you can usually shoot however you want.
