Re: Trop Gun
I doubt that we'll see this option anytime soon but, who knows what lies ahead. The new leadership at Trop has taken that "shop" to a whole new level and, will continue to do so. I suspect that Trop will become a nationally recognized retail / training facility before too long.

Re: Trop Gun
They are through their internet sales but are still a small business.
PA1936MN - if you read the rest of my post you'll see where I say it's not a big deal if they don't. I don't have any other LGS nearby where I shop but the mom and pop ATV shop I frequent will do a free ship to store as long as I am good with waiting until their next regular shipment (good by me).
Trop is a decent place to shop one way or the other.

Re: Trop Gun
Well Phil, I was at the range today shooting with the old timers. Most of these guys are veterans and your "comrade" remark has lost you alot of customers. These guys and their friends were split on shopping at Trop.
Now, even the guys that were still willing to spend money there wont be. That remark was made a while back but these guys seem to actually be getting angrier about it.
People on this thread need to stop taking things said here so serious. We all have opinions and that is what we share here. I cant tell you how often I hear uncle Stan, your being a d**k from my own nephew who still does business with Trop. God bless.

Re: Trop Gun
So...many of the customers you encountered on the range at Trop are no longer customers and both they and their friends are split on shopping at Trop?
Perhaps it's just me but this seems somewhat confusing.
I believe that Phill's comment on page 16 were aimed towards those who may hold to the belief that stores should "Sell every round of .22 you have, in-store only, no purchase limits, for the same price that you charged in 2012." and nothing more. That's it, end of story, time to move on.
Trop is a business in pursuit of making a profit. In doing so, they have chosen to provide their customers excellence in product availability and selection advice, on-site services such as range use and firearms based training, eCommerce solutions, and free web based information. The senior staff at Trop are highly motivated and honest people with a high degree of integrity.
We (the shooting community) should be pleased to have a dynamic, growth oriented firm such as Trop in our midst.
ETA: For those who found themselves short of ammunition, magazines and spare parts during the last panic due, NOW is the time to ensure that that doesn't happen to you again. Become self sufficient by reloading. Handgun powder from Hodgdon and IMR is showing up again (forget about anything from Alliant).Last edited by ArmyVet; October 26th, 2014 at 07:26 AM.

Re: Trop Gun
When I said at the range I meant one of the ranges I shoot at. As for what Phil said, it was more about "comrade" then the 2012 22 prices. But while we are talking 2012 prices there are several places selling their 22 for the 2012 price. Yes, they have limits and yes, they sell out fast but they are doing it. Backwoods in Columbia had some federal lightning 40 grain for 1.99 per 50 and AE 40 grain for 1.99 per 50. Now someone will say how they have more overhead so they have to charge more. Most of the other small gun shops in the area dont have a back-up company like century spouting do help them out if they need it they have to make it on their sales. I am also waiting to hear a answer back from trop as to if someone buys something online if they can pick it up at the store or if everything gets drop shipped. One thing is true, now is the time to stock up for the next panic.

Re: Trop Gun
When I was at Lanco Tactical for their customer appreciation day, I picked an extra stack of their referral cards, to keep them in my pocket when I enter your store. Now, Lanco Tactical will have a an actual record, instead my hearsay, of how many new customers I send them, directly from the inside of your shop. If they started that $5 referral 2 years ago, I'd be $100 into my next pistol purchase from them by now. I have some catching up to do. See you tomorrow. I'll be the one wearing a Lanco Tactical hat. Feel free to discuss customer relations and economics with me.

Re: Trop Gun
Can someone help me understand why this comment offends people? I just don't get what this is all about. Mr. Phil seems to have made a statement simply saying we live in a capitalist society (And thank God we do, as opposed to the alternative!) and that prices go up and down based on demand. I feel Trop has been more than fair with their pricing through the thin times and will continue to shop there.

Re: Trop Gun
Just because I dont agree with what Trop is calling capitalism doesnt make me a socialist. I also think our elected president is a moron but that doesnt mean I dont believe in democracy. When gas prices go up every summer and people complain are you going to call them comrade? The prices of items is not the only thing people are upset with. Charge whatever you want on the website but give the local people, the ones that paid for that new building a chance to buy it at that price. You have been asked several times if you drop ship and you havent answered which leads people to think that you dont. If not , why cant you let the locals pay the website price and pick it up at the store.
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAPITALISM AND OPPORTUNISM.
