Gun-rights activist Adam Kokesh arrested in Herndon
Police searched the Northern Virginia home of libertarian activist Adam Kokesh Tuesday evening and took him into custody, according to a news release posted on Kokesh’s Web site.
Kokesh, a former Marine, was being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, charged with possession of schedule I and II drugs while in possession of a firearm, said Lt. Steve Elbert, a spokesman for the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office.

While I applaud this guy's activism... why would one keep "illegal" substances in their home after going viral video doing something "illegal" in Wash DC? The old adage, break one law at a time comes to mind. I hope he gets bailed out today.

Even if he is not being set up he lacks common sense, He loves being in the news and goes through withdrawal when he is not front page. I am also getting very tired of the Former Marine qualifier every time they talk about him, his service has nothing to do with his recent antics.

Because the authorities have never planted evidence before, right?

Re: Gun-rights activist Adam Kokesh arrested in Herndon
Media does this a lot with different things. I honestly believe its an effort to influence the way we think or feel about things. Take the AR for instance. Every time it is mentioned in an article, there's a reference to one of the shootings. It makes me wonder if they're not trying to link former servicemen to being unstable.
Of course they have. The problem in this case is that the image Kokesh has portrayed makes it a lot easier for them.

I don't know much/anything about the guy beyond what I've read on this forum, but is it possible that he does not care that they found drugs. It appears that he is a supporter of legalization. Could it just be a case of he does not care, he is who he is and is not going to hide the drugs in fear of the government?

I haven't been able to figure out if Kokesh is genuine but reckless, or a provocateur.
I respect a lot of what he says, but he then does things that really don't help the cause. Maybe it's me that's too cautious, though I am not generally thought of that way by people who know me
Definitely not smart having illegal substances if you are going to antagonize the system.
All that said, the raid is police state BS. He would have gone peacefully without all of the JBT tactics.
