Bottlenecks and Rodano's in Wilkes-Barre
Walking around downtown Wilkes-Barre this past weekend looking for a place to eat, the gf and I came upon Bottlenecks and Rodano's.
Both of these establishments have the same sign posted at the entrance:
**********
NOTICE
No guns, knives or weapons allowed on premises
**********
Needless to say, we didn't spend a dime at either establishment and instead went to Smokey Bones over by Wyoming Valley Mall. No signs posted there, the food was very good (even for a chain establishment) and the service was adequate. They even comped us a drink because the waitress was a little slow bringing it out.
In all, I hope no one else visits these places.this is not legal advice.

Re: Bottlenecks and Rodano's in Wilkes-Barre
We went to Rodano's when Ron White did the show at the Kirby center. Didn't see the sign, was CCing my glock and my cousin was CCing his LC380. My other friend had a lockback knife in his pocket with the pocket clip showing. He was asked to hand it over until he was done, he said get bent and left.
Won't go there again.Stay armed my friends.

Re: Bottlenecks and Rodano's in Wilkes-Barre
It's funny, I never noticed the signs there either until that night. I don't know if both places are owned by the same people/company, but both places had the EXACT same sign.
Excuse me while I put my tinfoil hat on.. Could it be that some group is going around and asking establishments to put these signs up? I don't know. But it's something to be on the lookout for. The image I posted is a copy of the exact sign that was posted.
Okay, *crumple* hat off - in sum, there are plenty of other good places around WB to grab a bite to eat.this is not legal advice.

Re: Bottlenecks and Rodano's in Wilkes-Barre
I sent a scathing email to Rodano's a few months back about the sign. I never got a reply.
I suggest emailing them and make a stink. Until more people do this, the same crap will happen.
They need to know we are a force that can hit them in there pockets. With great power comes great responsibility....

I just won't go there anymore, neither will friends and family since all of us carry something they don't want in there. The food wasn't that good anyway.
Stay armed my friends.

Re: Bottlenecks and Rodano's in Wilkes-Barre
With all the socialist manipulation goin on these days with the lamestream media(which includes our local media)... many good people that are not fimiliar with firearms are just inclined to think, everyone carrying a firearm is the badguy. That's what the media wants to portray us all as.
And guns are the problem!... not the criminal behind the act, lack of fully prosicuting the criminals, and today's welfare society!
It's all about manipulation. Than you have good/but clueless manipulated people that try to make their business/organizations (what they think will be) a so-called "gun-free zone!"
What they fail to realise is, criminals don't obide by the law!, or rules you may try to enforce. An are only disarming the very people that might save their asses and the good people they want to have as customers.
"Gun Free Zones" are nothing more than killing fields for the criminals and criminally insane!"You Gotta Kill it!...To Grill it!"..."Whack 'em an Stack 'em!"

I go there late on Fridays. Tbh the whole point of conceal carry is to make it seem as if you're unarmed. You'd be able to get in with a good front holster. They don't do too good of a searching people anyways.
Plus it's never a good idea to drink and carry. No matter how invincible you think you are, your judgement is impaired when you drink.

Re: Bottlenecks and Rodano's in Wilkes-Barre
I recently moved to Wilkes-Barre and have not been to either of these establishments. But reading these posts I would like to add my two cents as well.
Your definition of concealed carry is 100% right on the money. I could walk into one of these places, eat and drink without an issue, while cc'ing my sr9c. But I would never do that.
Its not about getting away with breaking the rules. Nor is it about sneaking past the employees with your concealed carry piece.
For me, it is about not supporting a business that would rather me be a victim, then be able to defend myself. And not supporting a business that buys into the message that everyone who carry's a gun is bad.
I agree that the establishments have every right to have these rules. Its their business and they should be able to set the rules there. But I can't support them allowing them to profit with my money, when there are dozens of other places in the area that offer the same products and don't discriminate against law biding citizens who want to be able to defend themselves.

Growing up with those guys(owners of the restaurant)many years ago,if we were not playing baseball,we were shooting our 22's and bb guns in the woods behind their house. I guess growing up, for some people, change their minds about the things we all had fun doing every day. Just my opinion.
