FN Five Seven VS Two Glocks
I hope everyone is enjoying the 4th of July weekend! No one can deny the reliability and fame of Glocks and still, so many people rave about the FN Five-seveN pistol that it has gotten me very intrigued. BUT, the Five Seven's price of over $1100 puts it at double the price of a Glock. That's two Glocks you could purchase for the price of one Five Seven.
I know the 5.7 and Glocks are drastically different beasts; however, if you were to consider their overall qualities, values for the money, philosophies of use, collectibility, etc... which would you vote as the better choice for the money? One Five Seven pistol OR two Glocks of your choice?
The Five Seven and Glocks are both lightweight polymer pistols, so this is why I'm debating between the two options. It just feels strange spending over a grand for a "plastic" FN when the manufacturing cost appears as less than a hundred or two... And considering the fact that you can buy two Glocks instead. So, is the FN really worth it? Thanks in advance!

Factor in the cost of ammo and I think you'll have your answer. The 5.7 is an interesting round, but like you I don't understand why that gun is so dammed expensive. Add to that the high cost of the ammo to feed it and it just doesn't seem worth it to me. My vote would to be get one Glock and use the rest for ammo or formal training or maybe something else not related to shooting.

Two Glock 19s for me.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

As of right now there is one vote for the "different" category.
I wonder if that vote is for a 1911.....If gun control worked, Chicago would be like Mayberry, instead of Thunderdome.

If you currently have neither then the 2 Glocks would be my choice.

Re: FN Five Seven VS Two Glocks
I already have two Glocks of my choice. I don't want a FN Five Seven. I wouldn't spend 1K on a pistol.

How about a Glock and a suppressor?

Two is always better than one unless it is a chick...one of those is hard enough by their self: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHZcs3QmUZE
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: FN Five Seven VS Two Glocks
I've heard great things about the FN Five Seven, but my god man they're ugly as sin. I'll take a G19 and G30s over it any day.
