Re: Turned away from Targetmaster for flip flops.
That's possible, but I would think that risk would be exacerbated by adding socks to the equation.
As far as sending Tom an email, I'm not finding an address for him anywhere. If anyone could PM it to me, I'd appreciate it. They didn't use him as the contact for the domain registration.

Re: Turned away from Targetmaster for flip flops.
That's a terrible incentive to become a member. My dad has been on and off over the years. He shoots there every Friday, but he's usually there when they first open, today he was there a few hours later than usual. He doesn't know if he's shot there in flip flops before. I know I have a few times. Never again.

It's a private business
Don't waste your time with an email
I agree 100% with the policy.
It's an f-ing gun range... Wear shoes
ANY and EVERY step they can take to promote safety I agree with.
Hot brass in your feet...
Wet flip flops are slippery
You can trip MUCH easier with them than shoes
It's not professional
In an emergency, try running in flip flops
Etc
Etc
Etc
Some of you guys just look for arguments

Re: Turned away from Targetmaster for flip flops.
Is it time for a flip flop rally? Lol I want to like flip flops but I just can't get over not having boots or sneakers on. Like my Glock, first thing in the morning to until I'm down for the night. It's like some primitive need to be able to flee with foot protection on a moments notice.

Re: Turned away from Targetmaster for flip flops.
Hot brass would burn me through socks thin enough to wear with flip flops. Socks would make flip flops more slippery.
Socks would also make it easier to trip in them.
Since when is "not professional looking enough" a reason to keep someone off a range? Should we all wear suits, glasses and earpieces all the time?
I can and do run in flip flops. Because you can't, doesn't mean no one can.
I wasn't looking for an argument. I was looking to shoot pistols and buy a shotgun. I didn't give them an argument, I just left. I don't understand how anything I've done could be construed as looking for an argument.Last edited by TheWolff; July 5th, 2013 at 03:00 PM.

Re: Turned away from Targetmaster for flip flops.
I understand that a lot of people don't like or understand wearing them. For 7 years, I wore combat boots to work every day. Now I don't like to wear socks whenever possible, and flip flops suit my needs. I knew I'd get some crap on here for wearing them, but banning them seems like an arbitrary power grab, especially when combined with their other overreaching (in my opinion) rules like banning cell phones and hats (except for one approved style and orientation) from a building. Obviously I respect their rights as a property owner to make these rules, and I will abide by them. I didn't make a scene or anything on the way out.

Re: Turned away from Targetmaster for flip flops.
If you're in Phoenixville, why not just shoot at French Creek Outfitters?
$200 for a yearly membership, unlimited time and visits.
You can bring a guest for $8, and stay as long as you want, as opposed to $12 for an hour for a non-membership shooter.
I don't know about flip-flops there, but I've shot several times wearing top siders.

Re: Turned away from Targetmaster for flip flops.
Thanks. I'm a member at LPRGC though. I only shoot at Targetmaster when I'm down in Delco by my dad's place. I've shot a few times at French Creek, it wasn't bad, but with LPRGC, I can go shoot after the kids are in bed until midnight, and not have to worry about FC's operating hours. He doesn't want to make the trip up there when he wants to shoot, but I don't know where might be closer/better besides Field & Stream. I'll haven't looked into their facilities in over a decade, so it's probably time to give them another look.
