The best SD ammo for you and your 26 is the ammo that feeds and functions 100% in your firearm and also hits where you aim. Try a few different brands and you and your 26 will decide what is the best match up. Have fun and be safe.

A G26 will function well with any factory ammo, I know the ones I own and have owned in the past shoot whatever I put in it.

    Well said. I agree.

Go with what is dependable and functions perfect in YOUR firearm.

    Huh?

The Golden Sabre usually over expands and petals break off and all you end up with is a lump of lead and sometimes jacket separation.

The bonded ones are more sought after and retain their shape better.

They are accurate IME. Especially from my 26. Which is exactly why I load them into it over speer gold dots. My 9mm load of choice is the gold dot 124gr +P's. But out of the shorter barrel. The concussion and blast is crazy.

If anyone thinks a GS won't go through denim... I strongly suggest you take that old pair of jeans to the range and fold it up a dozen times and shoot it.

Bullets go through clothes. Like paper.

This is what happens when I type while half asleep and not paying attention. There was one youtube review that discussed the whole 12 in rule through denim with golden sabers. I'll try to find it.

my 26 eats anything, but for carry i load it with speer gold dot 125 grns, very accurate in my 26 albeit a stiff recoil.

the 26 is a very forgiving gun- shoots almost anything accurately and reliably.

Excerpt from Dr. Gary Roberts list of suggested defense loads, which has a pretty good reputation:

    9mm:
Federal HST 147 gr JHP (P9HST2)
Remington Golden Saber 147 gr JHP (GS9MMC)
Speer Gold Dot 147 gr JHP
    Winchester Ranger-T 147 gr JHP (RA9T)
Winchester 147 gr bonded JHP (RA9B/Q4364)
Barnes XPB 105 & 115 gr JHP (copper bullet)
Federal Tactical 124 gr JHP (LE9T1)
Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +P JHP
    Winchester Ranger-T 124 gr +P JHP (RA9124TP)
Winchester Partition Gold 124 gr JHP (RA91P)
    Winchester Ranger-T 127 gr +P+ JHP (RA9TA)
    Federal Tactical 135 gr +P JHP (LE9T5)

As others have already said, Glocks will eat pretty much anything. I'm currently carrying GS 147's in my G26.

I love the Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P. They make a short barrel version of it too for subcompact guns with short barrels like the 26. Something about the way the powder burns or is ignited makes it a little more efficient in the short barrel. There isnt much of a difference though, I shoot the short barrel stuff through my glock 19 all the time if that is all I can find. Either or will be fine. Gold Dots are an exceptional round, like many of the other popular brands. Corbon, Federal, Sabre, etc. All are good.
