Re: Good police encounter while armed, chalfont/Bucks
I had to go to a business meeting in New Jersey. I usually avoid Jersey, but couldn't this time. The NJSP were stopping cars using the checking of their inspection stickers as the excuse. Then I saw the DHS/TSA van. They were doing a joint checkpoint, I guess looking for "terrorists". As I had PA tags, they let me go. It was then that I realized they were not NJSP, but the STASI.

Might not hurt for the OP to call, or write a letter to the editor of the local paper detailing the interaction - thanking the dept publicly for understanding the law & being professional.
Public servants rarely get praise. A letter to the editor could be a valuable teaching moment for the public, and make the cops look good as well."Cives Arma Ferant"

Re: Good police encounter while armed, chalfont/Bucks
I saw a bunch of YouTube videos of a guys who drives through border checkpoints (checkpoints within the US between States, not at the border) and refuses to say whether he is an American Citizen. He refuses to consent to a search and demands a supervisor. Every one of them let him go without getting answers. Here is link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR7nQ...yer_detailpage
