Re: Philadelphia Expo Center At Oaks Gun Show 1,000 Tables
Well that's good to know. Ammo could be sane by next summer.
I don't need any 22 ammo right now and I'd be tempted $28/brick. Last time I stocked up at $18/brick.Honey, sell my guns for what they're worth and not what I told you I paid for them.

Yeah, ammo was a little cheaper than when I went in February, but still not great. The crowd was much, much larger this time also. A few reasonable deals to be found. Saw an Arsenal SLR-95 marked at 800, someone bought it for 750. I picked up a pretty nice Norinco Mak 90 with a 5 round mag for 575 OTD.

Re: Philadelphia Expo Center At Oaks Gun Show 1,000 Tables
The girlfriend and I had a great time walking around on Sunday. I saw some pretty good deals throughout the day....
I ended up buying a bunch of paracord for my daughter and a quart of pickles for myself. Those were some of the VERY best pickles I've ever had...the jerky was really good as well...
I picked up a Noveske Flaming Pig for my SBR build. Found it for $125 out the door brand new. The cheapest that I've found over the past few weeks was $145. Almost bought a knock-off for $60. Glad I held out.
I was in search of a Mossberg JM Pro semi shotgun...couldn't find one anywhere nor even a 930SPX. I did however find a new Mossberg Rythem (holds 14 in the tube) for only $650...that was a steal of a price. I just don't care for the blue wood finish

Re: Philadelphia Expo Center At Oaks Gun Show 1,000 Tables
It was a very nice show. I came at 11 on Saturday and happened to get a spot about 150 feet from the front door. There was little to no line going in. My buddy found a brand new in box Walther P38 from the 1960's for a great price. I was saving my money for a big rifle purchase on Sunday, not really planning to buy much at Oaks when my friend pointed out a shotgun on my list. I had gotten interested in 12 GA slug guns a few years back, leaning towards Remington 870s when I saw some Ithaca 37 Deer Slayer guns in Lebanon a year ago. They were $400 to $500 used and I have seen none since. Just as we were about to leave, same buddy pointed out a nice Ithaca with 2 barrels for $400.
I agreed to buy and then the salesman's buddy made me a counter offer for the second barrel.
My new cost? $310.
You cannot say there aren't some great deals at the Oaks Gun show.
I have found some real gems there when I look! (or just happen to be at the right place at the right time)

I thought it was great!
1. Really good food (Chicken fingers at the concession are awesome)
2. The pickles and Jerky are second to none and gives a nice "break" from looking at other things!
3. There were indeed deals to be found and made if you took the time and looked
4. Aisles nice and wide, notable absence of B.O.
5. Climate control system was working really well and was very comfortable
6. Majority of the vendors were very personable (for a change)
I didn't like the vendors that didn't have prices marked on their items...in fact I refused to look at their tables and bought stuff elswhere. And by judgiing from a lack of people at those particular tables, I wasn't the only one!

Re: Philadelphia Expo Center At Oaks Gun Show 1,000 Tables
Ended up buying a nice Walther P1 NIB stamped with a manufacture date of 11/63.
The only turn off was one vendor selling bricks of .22lr for the utterly absurd price of $75! Hope he went home with all of them.
