Default Does Sheriff's office call neighbors for CCW renewal?

When I have my CCW permit renewed this summer, will they call my neighbors or just my (2) references? Only reason I askk is that I think my neighbors might be hardcore liberals lol.

Again this is a renewal not a new permit.

    Thans for any replies!

In Delaware County there is no difference between new & renewal, same exact process, your references will most likely be called, and in the past the DELCO Sheriff had also contacted your employer, not sure if they still do that. No one else as far as I know will be "talked to".

off topic sorta, but i'd renew a bit early if I live in delco. They tend to take their time. Can't vouch for them as to calling neighbors, as i'm in a different county although i've never heard of it

If they did, I would file a complaint with whoever would listen. Where did you get the idea that this might happen? You supply two references, those references either get called, have a post card questionaire mailed to them, or they are ignored. In no instance have I ever heard of anyone's neighbors being called.

I'm not sure why I thought they called the neighbors. Someone told me this a long time ago. I know they do call the 2 references, as they should!

They never even checked my references let alone my neighbors.

In DELCO the office will call your references, visit your home and sometimes visit your neighbors.

Actually *visi*t your home and your neighbor's home? I have never heard of that, ever.

No one from the sheriff's department has ever visited my home or my references.

A couple of renewals back, they did call both next door neighbors, even though they were not listed as references. Different sheriff, different procedures, I imagine.

This past renewal, they only called my references. I also got a call from the investigating deputy telling me that things were fine and my LTCF would be ready for pick up soon.
