Obama requested 15k Russian troops

On the bright side... no one wants to engage US army, primarily because they are our brothers. Russians or other foreign invaders will get shot with no remorse whatsoever. That will make certain job much easier.

During WWI, WWII, and supposedly with the "War on Terror". Also a forgotten chapter - during the Civil War. The Russian Czar held an allegiance with the North. The Czar threatened Britain and France with military reprisals if they interfered with the course of the American Civil War.

I highly doubt Russia has had America's best interests in mind for some time now. We may have worked together on a few projects but I don't see them as an ally. There's two types of people you should never trust gypsies and sneaky f&$@in Russians.

The only thing that's truly a shame is that they don't really use 7.62x39 any more, at least to my knowledge so I guess I'll have to pick up 74 variant soon or just chamber my AR build in 5.45.

Or you kill one with your AR and when you run out of ammo you take their AK-74 with selective fire and now have a full auto option.

They're a token force. They have no logistical support. No air support. No armor.

Please..... Who is going to feed them, house them, quarter them and translate into English for them? Russians are not supermen.

Heck, the Chechens give them a good run for their money, and the Russians have air support and armor. The Russians there have to perform acts of barbarity which would get them massacred if they tried it here.

Obama would destroy the Democratic party if he let them do to us what they're doing in Chechnya. Neither side gives any quarter in Chechnya.


Does anyone else here think that the US Government is going to allow foreign troops to fire on American citizens? If we had people who were that ideologically messed up they'd do the shooting themselves.

If Obama is seriously considering this as an option he better bring in LOTS more Russians. He better hope that they don't turn on him. The Romans discovered the hard way what happens when you hire mercenaries to do your military work, they tend to take over.

I bet that the US will host some Russian soldiers, perhaps up to 15,000. We already have Germans in New Mexico and elsewhere, training to fly.

At worst some of us might acquire some selective fire AK-74s. Some of those guys might even get home.

For decades we have hosted and trained foriegn troops on US soil, nothing new, nothing earth shattering. When you actually see foriegn formations gearing up and moving through our cities and towns then it gets real. Until then this just feeds the paranoid and those grasping for their version of reality. Tin foil won't work on them, you need extra thick lead hoods to keep those thinkers clear.
While eventually something very bad may occur here, you can't spin up to condition Red (pun intended) every time someone reads an article and takes it as breaking the code.

If the Russians decide to do some riot control here, I have some 7.62 x 39mm ammo from Russia that I'll be happy to return to them (at 2396 fps).
