barrel grooves damaged, now what?
Bad day at the range. While letting a friend of a friend shoot my CZ P-07, a squib occurred. I quickly regained control of it before he racked in another round. The bullet was a 124gr CMJ I had loaded yesterday. The head had gone all the way to the end of the barrel, flush with the end. After many attempts to drive it all the way out to no avail, I first pilot drilled through the bullet head then drilled the lead out. The metal jacket had practically welded itself to the form of the grooves. After taking a torch to it, eventually it peeled out.
Looking down the barrel, about an inch from the end the grooved are marred on one side. The only true way to know is to shoot it(tomorrow), but how much will this affect it's general accuracy?

Re: barrel grooves damaged, now what?
Yeah, I already looked it up on CZ's website. Stock barrel 145 bucks, threaded barrel 165, although I have no need for threaded. I'm going to try it tomorrow, and will probably not buy a new barrel unless accuracy is destroyed.
Update: Just got back from the range. Shot 100rnds, from 7 yards, groupings were consistent..2" low and left. I believe POI has changed, as POI was very close to POA with sights aligned. I just joined IDPA and had planned to use the P-07 for it. Since groupings were consistent, I don't believe a barrel replacement is in order, yet.Last edited by Sparxfly72; June 24th, 2013 at 10:26 AM.

Re: barrel grooves damaged, now what?
I'd throw the rest of those reloaded rounds on a scale sparx. Easy way to be safe and to avoid this happening again.
I'm surprised it marred the bore honestly. Did it just round the edge of a groove? How bad is it?
Sucks it moved POI though. :/
