Default Glock 40 cal to 357 Sig. Anyone just use 40 cal mags?

I have a Lone Wolf barrel in 357 Sig for my Glock 27 and it functions fine with the standard model 27 mags at the range. Is anyone confident enough to carry it that way or do you get the 357 mags or at least the follower? Thanks, B

357 Sig and 40 S&W use the same magazines. My Sig P239 in 357 Sig magazines are labeled 357/40 as are my Sig P229 mags. I have the 40 cal barrel for my P229, just swap the barrel and it's now 40 S&W, swap it back and it's a 357 Sig. Same is true with Glock, my Glock 32 works fine with both 357 marked and 40 cal marked mags for a Glock 22.

I recently got one of the newest .40sw (I think #9) followers and it is the same as the #2 .357sig followers. I don't carry the .40 so all my followers are .357sig. It is really up to you. Usually the .357sig followers are slightly different than .40.

    + 1

I'm with chez. Same extractor, same mags.

Same. hell, .40/357 mags will feed a 9mm reliably. during the clinton ban you would buy model 22 or 23 10rnd mags for your model 17/19 and stuff 11 or 12 in there, just because.

Not reliable enough for carry though.

The magazines are identical between the .357SIG and .40S&W. The only reason Glock stamps different calibers on the back of them is for liability purposes.

My Smith M and P mags are marked 40/357 but I heard Glock uses a different follower between the two. I haven't yet made the decision to carry it with the 357 barrel because its just so damn reliable with the 40 cal that what I may ( or may not )gain in bullet performance I will lose in confidence. Especially if I feel I may not have the best magazine. I think I'm just going to buy a model 33 mag to carry in the gun and use the standard 40 mags for back ups.
