off topic- Met_ed and choosing a supplier for electricity?
Has anyone selected another vendor for their electricity other than the in house Met_Ed ? Have you saved any real money? How has the billing been?
Thanks for any feedback.Jim @ kitchenknifefora.com

Yep, I'm all electric and last year I saved about 20 bucks a month. I don't do variable rate deals or introductory rates of less then 12 months. I shop every year for rates.
I also found sometimes the CS phone operators can deepen the discount.

Last year I had Dominion. This year I switched to First Energy Solutions at .669 per kwh for 1 year then I shop again.
You will see no change on how you are billed or your budget billing just the amount. Met ed will do it all the same as PPL does for me.

Re: off topic- Met_ed and choosing a supplier for electricity?
When we had PPL and chose another vendor, we saved a lot of money.
Now that we have Met Ed, unless things have changed in the last 9 months, we don't save any money. Our bill actually went up a little. Met Ed threw an expensive usage fee on the monthly bill to completely negate the savings from choosing another vendor. If your results vary from ours, please let me know. Met Ed explained to us that that's what they do when customers choose another vendor. If I recall correctly the usage fee was in the ballpark of $50 monthly before adding in the amount of electricity used and other fees.
