Default Philly PD Gun Permit Unit

    Hey All,

I just received my approval letter after submitting on 4/9/13. When I went down that day I waited almost 2 hours before all was said and done. What would the best time to go in order to get in and out relatively quickly if I'm just getting the picture taken?

As soon as they open. Be the first person there. I did that to drop off my paperwork and pick up my license. I was in and out in under 20 minutes both times.

What time did you get there? They open at 8:30 but I was told by a few there that they start lining up at 8.

Or what? You'll wait until it gets there and you'll be damn happy when you get it.

They got it done within the 45 calendar day limit! Maybe this is the beginning of a trend. A thank you letter to the PGU Lieutenant (gently) mentioning the 45 day limit might reinforce the good behavior

I submitted my renewal application on April 10. Hopefully I'll have some good news in the mail this week. My LTCF expired 3 weeks ago. I don't like going around "naked".

I'm going to stage a sit in. Since the School District, in its infinite wisdom, has laid me off I have nothing but time on my hands. A little civil disobedience might be good for my soul.

In Philly, what is the earliest you can submit for a renewal? For example, let's say my LTCF expires July 15th, how soon can I get down there to submit my paperwork?
