    Default Midnight OC at Wegmans

I had to work late tonight so I stopped in Wegmans on the way home @ 11:55. There were only about 6 customers in the store but they all looked at my Glock 20 and kept looking at it. I wonder how many thought something bad was about to happen?
When I shop there on Sundays ( late morning ) nobody looks twice.

Last I checked with wegmans corporate no weapons allowed in their stores. Ours has an off duty local cop always stationed at the store.

At least they then DO something to increase safety (hiring a local cop...I assume he's armed) instead of just doing something to decrease it (make it a victim only zone).

One of their security officers is on this forum and he will tell you otherwise. I've never heard that before in 6 years on this forum. Some of their employees are also on this forum.

One person on this forum was asked to cover a firearm or something several years ago and corporate straightened the situation out. It had been a mistake.

Many of us, including me, have open carried at more than one Wegmans for years. I really think you were given some bad info.

will that extra 15% matter? not as much as being able to put one in their face. ~Edg

Geez, rough neighborhood. If they need an off-duty cop in the store, you definitely need to be carrying in that store.

The local Target has an actual uniformed Philly cop on duty from time to time.

I agree totally in the idea that if a cop needs to be stationed in a store, you had better be armed yourself, that's a rough area.

I doubt that is legal, using uniformed cops to protect a private business.

The target near me has a Philly cop there almost everyday. My wife's uncle who was a cop in the district said that target pays their salary when they are there.
