Default Attempt to expunge boy's suspension over pastry denied

A seven year old child armed and dangerous with pastry!
Our public school system at it's best!
It's shameful that the family has to spend money to fight this?

Attempt to expunge boy's suspension over pastry denied

An attorney for the family of an Anne Arundel County second-grader suspended from school for nibbling a pastry into the shape of a gun said Monday that a top school official has denied the appeal to have the boy's record expunged.

Robin Ficker, attorney for Park Elementary School student Josh Welch and his family, said he will now appeal to the county school board.

Josh Welch was suspended in March for two days after school officials accused him of shaping the pastry into the form of a gun and waving it around.

Did you ever see the movie dumb and dumber? I think we can do a sequel called dumb, dumber and dumbest. It would all revolve around this school district and their idiotic handling of this case.

Who in their right mind suspends a kid for this:

Then keeps making it a bigger and bigger deal? They are teaching this kid a valuable lesson, just not the lesson they want to be teaching.

There's a personality disorder where people make a mountain out of a molehill call "hysterical personality disorder". I thinking this may be a prevalent personality disorder among the leadership of this school district.

Like I said, this kid is learning a valuable lesson, the school district is learning nothing.

Why even waste the time? It's not like it is going to cause him any problems down the road getting a job or making the varsity football team. Schools have blathered about "your permanent record" for decades but as I found out the year or so after I graduated from high school, there ain't no such thing.

And even if they were successful in getting it 'expunged', they're not going to get it expunged from all the media sources/internet. If someone really wants to dig into his background looking for something to use against him, they're going to find out about it.

Sheesh, it barely looks like a gun. It looks more like a map of Idaho turned 45 degrees.

I have written this in many threads - home school. We started 20 years ago. All our children are through, and we are contemplating the grandchildren going the same route. We used to include pictures of our girls shooting guns as part of the required portfolio that went to the superintendent each year.

ETA: Here is a pic of our youngest shooting a WASR 10 that went into one of the portfolios.

To me, the record wouldn't be the point, the point is getting them to admit their stupidity and fully rescind the punishment. They won't even acknowledge they were wrong and stupid. Personally I think an example needs to be made....one with tar and feathers.

These morons are in charge of teaching?
