Default Full mag, one in the chamber

Do you guys keep your carry or home defense pistol with a full mag and and one in the chamber or do you just load your mag and chamber a round. What I'm asking is do you put 9 rounds in you gun that has a 8 round mag?

I put a full size 15 rounder in my M&P +1 in my compact M&P (which has a 10+1 stock mag) and added an x grip to the mag.

Yes. I fill the magazine, insert mag and release slide, loading the chamber, remove the mag and add 1 round.

My 1911 has 8-round mags and I carry all 8 plus 1 in chamber. Same way with my wife's Beretta.

Full mag, one in chamber, ditto.

I was worried about accidental discharge at first but someone said "You carry a revolver with one in the chamber, what is the difference?" and I had to agree.
