Default Ignore a Mod? Why not?

OK, so why can't I add a Mod to my ignore list?

I get that they are on a higher level.
Couldn't they still give me infractions and such?

It may be a petty matter to some, but if I want to ignore someones posts, I'd like to be able to ignore their posts.

Just don't read their post. I gave up on ignore because the offending party more often then not got quoted .

My guess would be that the rationale is so that someone can't say they didn't see a warning posted by a mod in a thread, such as "everybody get back on topic".
I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.

I'd rather be able to ignore and if what you describes happens, I'll just take the timeout.

But yes, I do see your point.

My guess is that nobody misses the "ignore" feature as much as the mods miss it, since they can't ignore any posters, no matter how much they may wish to.

They choose so by being a mod, I guess I can choose to not post.

Quality moderation should be anonymous. Too often with sites where user names are attached to the moderator title, the mods can't follow their own rules, poke the hornets nest, then lock threads after they get the last word. They get drunk off the thimble of power.

Remember, mods need you to do their job. There are thousands of other firearms forums.

The IRS is effectively anonymous. How's that working for ya?
