Polished my 1911 feed ramp: now what?

I took apart my 1911, and polished the feed ramp to a mirror - tinsel finish. Now that I got that done, Im eying my parkerized barrel bushing and barrel. My full length guide rod looks shiny enough, not sure polishing it will do anything for me.

Problem is, if I polish the parkerizing off, then the bare metal will be more prone to rust. The other problem is, I have a Dremel in my hand with a polishing tip loaded with green polishing paste and a desire to polish more stuff. Would polishing the 1911 ruin an otherwise great shooting pistol?

That's ok, I did the same thing to my Ruger. Im actually pretty good with a Dremel.

Just remember with the barrel the the barrel bushing...removing the park means you're removing metal that was converted, so if your barrel and BB fit is a tic loose, it will loosen it more, and could cause your groupings to open some. This may not be so evident at 7 yds, but will be noticeable at say 15 to 25 yds, and definitely at 50. I'm not telling you your 50 yd group will go from 5" to 10", but something close to that may not be unrealistic, and if the park is thick on those areas, it could be very realistic.

That's ok, my wife found some other chit for me that needed polishing. I now officially hate silver serving sets.

That's the thing, the pistol is shooting dead on (better than me) with perfect fitting between bushing and barrel. Polishing it may loosen it.
You get so much contradictory info online, I thought Id post here and see the reaction I get to gauge how to proceed. Polish the feedramp is one thing, polish everything else and cock it up is another.....

First thing I do when I start any gunsmithing project is lend the Dremel to my brother-in-law.
