    Default CZ-70

I've always looked at these, but never picked one up. Any thoughts on them. Can get them advertised as "possibly unissued" in excellent/new condition, box/manual, 2 mags and factory target for $199.

looks cool, but for sizewise and firepower wise, i would think a P-64 would be a better value for similar price.

I have it's older brother, the CZ50. Accurate and 7.65 mm. Little recoil but the DA is heavy, though not as bad as the Nagant or the P64. Can adjust by clipping the hammer spring. I paid $75 delivered on my C&R many years ago, but the 70 is not yet under the C&R. Dave_n

Yeah, I was surprised it wasn't C&R. I like the 7.65 round, not my first choice for carry obviously but would have no issues with it from time to time. Thinking about it more for fun and plinking than putting into the carry rotation. I was looking at the P64 for a while too, seemed a bit clunkier - but if I found one in excellent shape like this 70 for under $200 I'd probably jump on it. I usually see the 70's go for $220-$280 ish in various conditions, that's why I thought $199 in like new condition with all the goodies and 2 mags sounded good - decisions, decisions!

I have one. Was refinished and has an upgraded firing pin. The originals are fragile. Avoid dry fire. Sweet little gun. Mags can be difficult to find. Thankfully mine came with 4.

Nice! Reminds me of what I did to my CZ-82 - had it refinished with Mahovsky metalife finish - sweet looking! I'm still trying to decide. Sounds like same firing pin opps as the CZ-52. Fired my 52 a dozen times and the firing pin went - put an upgraded one in it and no problems since.

I owned a P-64 and I currently have a CZ-50 (the older brother almost identical to the 70) and I can tell you from experience the p-64s recoil is very sharp, after a mag or two your web between your thumb and index finger will generally be pretty red and a little sore. I attribute this to the 9mm makarov chambering and the poor ergos of the p-64.

On the other hand the CZ has very minimal recoil and is a pleasure to shoot.

Neither have very good sights, think small military style.

Just get to AIM's site and buy one, you know you want to.

I have one, never fired it, it's locked up in storage, those AIM ones look a bit better than mine but I paid $79 for mine some years back.
Maybe I'll have to dig it out and dig up some ammo.
