citadel 1911 officers model open carry or should I go full size?
I today I put down a deposit on the above 1911. But I could change my mind.
I intent to open carry - I have a snub nose .357 that I thought I would conceal but the reality is I am always open carry because I've tucked my hurts in since HS.
For a couple of hundred bucks more I could get a full sizes 1911.
Both are fine firearms.
Am I foolish for getting the officers model when I'm going to open carry?
What are the draw backs of the officers vs full sized?
My primary concern is wishing if got the full size instead of the smaller pistol."Cives Arma Ferant"

This is why there is a commander size, best of both worlds. Lighter and easier to carry than a full size, longer sight radius than an officers model.

At powder burning distance, there's really not all that much difference between a full-size 1911 and a compact model.
For daily open-carry, either will suffice. Although the the compact will have a very, very slight advantage due to it's shorter slide length and the weight by a few ounces being shaved off.
At various times I carry either - open and concealed - and feel comfortable with each.
It's an individual choice.

You might as well save the weight and stay with the one you picked.
I doubt you will see much difference at SD ranges between the officers and the full size.
If you really want to conceal, have you tried a tuckable holster like a Crossbreed or Galco Kingtuk?
