Thinking about selling my Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion for a Glock 19. I love the .45 ACP and the 1911 platform but its just too damn heavy to tuck in my waistband. I know they're two totally different platforms and manual of arms, but what do you guys think?

I say keep the scorpion and begin saving a few bucks a week until you have enough to purchase your glock. Of course, Glock has .45acp's too so you would be able to utilize the ammo you already have. I think 21 is the full size and 30 would be the sub-compact.

Or you could get the subcompact Sig 1911 Ultra nitron, that's what I did. I switch between that and the G30 for CC. Both fit nicely IWB.

How about investing in the state of the art holster. One that you can carry
inside the waist band of jeans, slacks, shorts, etc. than can hold the weapon
secure, with the weight distributed for comfortable carry. There are several
variations out there in leather or kydex, JMO. I will be 68 this July and carry
several different models of the 1911 by Colt, S&W, Sig, Para Ord, all with
quality holsters up to 10-12 hrs. some days.

A Glock is only about $500 give or take. If you like your current 1911 I would just save up the cash for the G19.

Same here. I carry a S&W 4006 everyday. Weighs every bit what a 1911 is. Good belt and holster are essential for caarrying 40oz guns. It takes a commitment on your part to carry a steel gun day in and day out. If your not willing, buy the Glock and don't look back.

Keep the 1911 and save up for the Glock 19. I'm in the mindset never to sell a gun one you do you will want it back and end up paying more then he first time you bought it.

You dont give up a 1911 for a Glock. A 1911 has character, whereas a glock is just a Lego brick with a grip and a trigger. 'sides, you can always get a used Glock....

Are you literally tucking in there without a holster?
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Yes you should and I'll be first to volunteer my G19 for trade.
