My preferred local gun dealer carries them regularly, so I've had plenty of time to get my hands on one. They do feel decently put together, no loose parts rattling around. But the hand grip is only so-so in my opinion, and I'm not a big fan of the small ejection port on the side of the slide. I prefer the larger ejection port that takes the top and side of the slide found on other semi-automatics.

But I still prefer wheelguns for carry...and I have recently fallen for a sexy 1911...didn't like them too much until I got my hands on one I liked. Now I see what all the fuss is about!

I do not own one, but everyone I've ever heard from that owns one has had nothing but good to say about them! As mentioned, they are heavy, ugly, crude - but from everything I've heard, they go bang every time!
I do own a hi-point 9mm rifle, and same thing, ugly and crude but cheap and always goes bang! Enjoy it!

He either has a lot of guns and has run out of places to store them, or he has a lot of cats that shit everywhere.

I read that thread a couple weeks ago and loved it. A lot of the image links are dead (or at least they are for me) but still a great thread.

I've never broken-down nor cleaned my Hi-Point C-9 and it runs like a charm even after around 1,000 rounds.

It's ugly as sin but dead reliable and since it was my first handgun.....I'll never part with it.

+1 for the ugly red headed stepchild.... Hi-Point!

LOL I remember like 8 months ago I said something about a high point after I went shooting with my neighbor, first thing he said was "They are a piece of shit" but then he tells me a story of someone who bought a hi point and killed himself/girlfriend with it so I told him, well must have worked then!

But seriously If it was my only choice I would not hesitate to use it. Yes its ugly as shit and but it works. I won't say the 9mm but I know the .45's all work based on what I seen, hell they even torture test the hell out of the gun and it still works.

Hi point is like a homeless mans glock its more ugly but works.

LOL I honestly think anybody should be able to afford more than a hi point now. I managed to save up enough for a glock if I want one right now I can go get one. I used to be thinking about a hi point but that is when you are telling yourself "NO WAY I CAN NEVER SAVE UP THAT MUCH MONEY"

Its actually quite easy/fast to save up money assuming your not paying debts, ect. Hi points work but honestly after I saved up money to where I can buy a brand new glock or something else I can honestly say its well worth knowing that you don't have to deal with the thought of having one.

Yes they work, if I had no money hell ya I would use one but the thing is after you get more money you will no longer want to buy a hi point as I know see and thank god I didn't try to get one because now I have enough money for a better gun.

This is how I see it - Hi point = works but is fugly and heavy, the price will make people laugh at you, it just comes with owning a hi point.

glock = a more expensive hi point that is way better and not as fugly, it has went on a diet and loss some weight. Its nothing to go on a super bragging spree with but at least you get more bragging rights than a hi point!

Yes driving a honda civic is nice but once you become bill gates you will then want a lambo screw that civic
