Mating surfaces
What do you use besides chalk or baby powder on surfaces you want to mate to see where the high spots are to make it easier for mating/finishing?

Re: Mating surfaces
I realize the thread is 5 days old, but what will be your method for removing the high spots? If the stars and moon are aligned just right and the high spots are in the right spots, it could be beneficial to leave them be as long as the...I assume slide, will move, freely.
The proven body shop method for removing high spots and any imperfections is a thin coat of primer. Once you get the high spots where you want them, the primer residue comes right off with acetone or lacquer thinner (or lighter fluid).Last edited by harold63; June 1st, 2013 at 03:24 PM.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

a thin coat of primer in red,,,,,, and then a thin coat of grey primer.....sand lightly and see the differences..............................for body work. For a weapon,,,,,, magic marker works for me.
