Re: Sig Sauer P226 vs. Springfield XD9 5" - Help me decide
The Sig has DA/SA trigger, which I thought you wanted to avoid. Other than that, it's a first rate gun.
Thanks to my wife's XD9 Tactical, I've got first hand experience with the 5" XDs. They are plenty accurate, Cathy's never malfuctioned, at least not that were the gun's fault, and it came back on target quickly. A really pleasant gun to shoot, I will buy another for her or me if I ever get the chance for a competition gun.
If you are asking about rifling because you want to use cast bullets, the XD9 Tactical handled them wonderfully. The vast majority of bullets Cathy and I put through her gun were cast bullets I'd reloaded for her.Last edited by JoeWilliams; April 20th, 2009 at 04:35 PM.

Re: Sig Sauer P226 vs. Springfield XD9 5" - Help me decide
its a hard decision. both are great guns. i plan on owning one of each someday. have you considered the XDm 9. its a service model length so 4" but i don't think you'll miss the inch. it is still bigger than the sig barrel. and the new grip, match barrel, trigger job, and 19+1 capacity make it the dominate 9mm in the game right now.
