Default Attending a wedding at State Capital

We've been invited to a wedding that is going to be held in the Capital (under the rotunda?) with a reception to follow at another location within the city (Harrisburg) that I'm not very fond of being in/near. Actually I'm never that happy or comfortable being anywhere near the downtown Harrisburg area under any circumstances anyway. My understanding is that no firearms are permitted inside the capital, regardless of OC/CC or whether one has LTCF (which I do). I just wanted to confirm this with the folks here, and ask what your suggestions might be. I'm not certain about the rules at the reception location, but both locations will definately involve parking some distance away and walking, and I'm sure that when leaving the reception it will be after dark. I'm not too concerned with the reception as I'd be CC and being in a suit that's not a problem (concealed means concealed), but the Capital is a concern. I'm not a fan of the idea of leaving a gun in a parked car either. Any ideas?

You can't carry in the capitol building. Go around to the back entrance (facing the river) and check your weapon. No problem. They have lockers there so it should be safe. If you have questions about it you should definitely call them to be sure.

    ^^

You should be able to find links to the forum to check your firearm if you look for threads on the 2nd amendment rally at the Capitol, saving some time.

As already state you can check your weapon at the security checkpoint in the back entrance.

Shouldn't be an issue at all.

Just got back from the wedding. No problems whatsoever. Very professional and polite SGT. with the Capitol Police escorted me into a room off of the entrance, showed me a small locker to put my gun in, and locked it. I filled out a very small form (locker #, name, phone, etc.) which he signed and provided me a copy of. No checking for serial numbers, etc. Told me thanks and I'll see you when you're ready to leave. When we were ready to leave he simple opened the locker, took my receipte, and said " Have a nice day." No muss, no fuss, couldn't have been better.
