At the End the Fed (Federal Reserve System) Rally of Saturday, May 18, 2013 Edd Skitz, a local liberty activist, open carried a handgun in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

And what's the point? I didn't have time to read the link as I'm getting ready to go off to work but lots of people OC in Philly.

There are still many people who don't know that you can OC in Philly or that some people do OC in Philly regularly. This blog, which has readers around the country, stressed that and that is the point of this post.

That said, I'm actually glad that people are now saying "so what?" instead of "damn!" like it was 5 years ago.

just wear a security shirt. it kinda helps with the shock factor with the people that dont know the laws.

You can blame the state legislators for that. City of First Class is purely a population definition (1M or more people). If Pittsburgh, Allentown, or any other city reaches that number, it will have the same restriction.

know your rights

§ 6108. Carrying firearms on public streets or public property in Philadelphia.

No person shall carry a firearm, rifle or shotgun at any time upon the public streets or upon any public property in a city of the first class unless:

(1) such person is licensed to carry a firearm; or

(2) such person is exempt from licensing under section 6106(b) of this title (relating to firearms not to be carried without a license).

now the question you have to ask yourself is are you willing to go through the aggravation to open carry in Philly

and when your gun is confiscated by the ppd because of there lack of knowledge and education

bottom line is if you have a LTCW then you are 100% within your legal rights to open carry in Philadelphia
