restore beadblast finish?
I'm buying S&W5906 here in few days. Its the early one with funky shape trigger guard.
While internally looks decent(for near 30yo gun anyway), outside looks like a shit.
Gun was carried daily in leather holster by previous owner, who is a lumber Surveyors, and he carried it everyday while in the wood, and gun certainly shows.
Some part are so worn, it looks like a mirror polished.
I was thinking just to Cerakote it silver, but I was thinking may be better off just bead blast it like the original finish.
So can anyone think of any decent gun smith who could do that?Audemus jura nostra defendere

To bad your far away form Pittsburgh. While not a gunsmith I would happily bead blast it in my cabinet for a minor charge. Sorry your so far away.
Btw grats in the gun. I'm a huge Gen 3 Smith fan. I got a 1006, 4006, and a 4506 so far.www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.

Probly a hour and a half from Meadville. I'm about ten minutes off the Sewickley exit of 79 south from you. I think it's exit 66. If you disassemble it I can bead blast it in 20 minutes or so. I'm not afraid to take it apart just takes a lot more time.
If you haven't got it done by July or just want to head south one day for a trip send me a PM. I can do it anytime after Memorial Day. My shop is only a few blocks from my house so I can even do it on a weekend.Last edited by DucatiRon; May 17th, 2013 at 08:50 PM.

If you come to Meadville on a regular basis, give my buddy Mike a call:

I don't know if he can bead blast, but what does a call cost these days?"When I hit it, I expect it to fall the hell down and die!"
