Re: French Creek ?
I rarely enter this particular forum on this site, but I decided to click into it to see if there were any posts about FCO, and coincidentally, this one is at the top.
I go there and get powder, primers, and other such things, since it's conveniently located for me, but I don't believe I'd buy a gun from there. I'd rather go with a place like King's, as others have said.
Also, while most of the people at FCO are okay, there is this one guy there, kinda big and overweight, short dark hair and a goatee, and every single time I've interacted with him, I've wanted to punch him in the temple. He's just a miserable prick, and he should not be there working with the public.
They also have a great stuffed animal puppet selection there, so my daughter loves going. Not to mention all the stuffed mountain lions and what not.

French Creek has some of the best prices on long guns I've seen in SEPA. If you hunt, check their bargain rack and you'll occasionally find an excellent deal. But they are also more expensive on handguns and all ammo than most places. Check King's Shooters Supply around 10 minutes away to compare.

Re: French Creek ?
FCO is a 5 minute drive from my house. I bought a one year range membership there, which cost $200. I can shoot there as often as I like, and stay for as long as I like. That was a no brainer.
As for purchases, I never buy anything there, except for 5 for $1.00 targets for the range each time I go, and a couple bore brushes and jags , just small dollar items.
I've compared the handgun prices from FCO, Cabela's and InSite. I ended up buying from InSite in Jeffersonville. At least on the guns I wanted, InSite was cheaper.
The overall feel for the gun counter guys is that they think they're above most people, as if they were born with an extensive knowledge of guns.
They do have full cases of guns again, so the selection is there. It's just a matter of comparing prices.

Re: French Creek ?
I don't know why I bother still stopping into this place. I had to go to Sears Hardware today, so I stopped in at FCO to see if they happened to have any powder. They had quite a few pounds on the shelves, but it was all priced at close to $30, for NOTHING fancy at all. I've changed my mind about this place and have decided that it absolutely sucks.

I did learn that they sell black powder.
I picked up a pound go Goex last month. I think it was $30.
Still trying to get to the range to try it.
