Moving to the WB area...
I should be moving to the Wilkes barre area in the near future. I have a CCW from New Mexico and have trained others in shooting. Where should I look to start my new CCW and places to shoot????

Re: Moving to the WB area...
Sherman Hills Apartment complex.....
South Main Street.......
The Hardware Bar........
Most of South Wilkes-Barre........
Oh..... you said GO SHOOTING.... not where are the shootings.....
Seriously..... go to the county courthouse in WB for permit. Search web for luzerne county courthouse and follow links to sherif. Read instructions carefully as they only take money orders.
Places to shoot are tough. Most people shoot in the woods and the "strippens" either legally or illegally. There are a few game commission ranges that require a permit and LOTS of rules. There are also a few private ranges with long wait lists. Advanced Arms in Pittston is planning an indoor range with no timetable that I know of.
Did I miss anything??????With great power comes great responsibility....

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, and the only thing that stops a good guy with a gun is the government.

Re: Moving to the WB area...
The range on Suscon Rd is listed as a "rifle" range, however the PGC doesn't bother people who shoot handguns there. However, the closest targets are set at 50 yards, so unless you want to shoot at that distance, you may want to find a range set up for handguns.

the PGC on rt 118 in Sweet Valley has a separate pistol range. Max # of rounds for pistol is 6. You need range permit or PA hunting license.
