    Default Double stack 9mm 1911's???

Anyone know of any in a decent price range(not 2k+ like STI 2011's). Looking for atleast 17 round magazines.

Ive seen the para 18-9, but have no idea how to get one, or find any mags for it...

    Thanks

Send double stack 1911s to the moon or the bottom of the ocean.

The firearms instructor I used for my CCW course in Colorado used a double stack Kimber 1911. It functioned fine, but I never did get around to shooting it. I imagine it shoots the same as my single stack 1911's with a wider grip.

Do they have a reputation for being unreliable?

I thought they were only 13 round magazines?

Plus I dont like the aesthetics on those either... and not the same trigger as a 1911.

Pilot: I just went through kimbers website, and didnt see any double stack anything... maybe I didnt browse hard enough, but searched through all of the 1911 styles they have listed.

Flush fit 15 round mags from Mec-Gar are available for the Hi Power, as well as 17 and 18 round mags that have a little extension.

Yes, the trigger are different, but the BHP trigger can be made very nice with a little trigger work.

IIRC the double stack Kimber was in .45ACP. They may have discontinued it.

Your local shop should be able to order a Para. Magazines are easily available online.

Unlike double stack .45's, double stack 9mm and .40 guns run quite well.

The RI tactical has been well received and looks to be modeled off the Para design. Pretty sure they take the Para mags.

Armscor makes one, or at least used to. When I bought my Walther P99 in 2006 at the Dry Tavern Tru-Value store in Greene County I had a hard time debating whether to get the P99 or the Armscor double stack 9mm 1911, or the double stack 38Super 1911 they had.

Both 1911's had full target type sights, were tight fitted like how Kimbers are, and looked really good. I think both the 9mm and 38Super were 18+1.
