Default Issues with a rally this coming June in Erie.

Well, an OC rally has been scheduled for June 22 in Erie. However, there are currently some issues.

Gregory Karle, the City Solicitor, has made it clear that they will be enforcing their preemption violation. With the threat of a fine up to $1,000 and up to 90 days in jail.

Now, Justin, who is organizing the rally, is working with an attorney. And regardless, I am going. If everyone could show some support, the link the to facebook posting is here: https://www.facebook.com/OpenCarryPennsylvania

I didn't put it in the events section, because I am not really trying to invite everyone. Just please, keep updated on this, and show support to those of us involved.

If anyone has any suggestions, or words of encouragement, feel free to post them up on the facebook. Or post them here if you don't have facebook, and I can relay the message.

More information is available on the page as well. Including the letter that was sent to Mr. Karle.

Get the county sheriff or some constables there. They can arrest any arresting officers for disruption of the peace, battery, unlawful restraint, and on and on.

What's the story on their preemption? What exactly is "illegal"?

Looking for it now. And I also came across the fact that Erie has a last and stolen firearm law on the books as well.

    Here is the lost/stolen

Looking for a link to the preemption one about carrying. But it is the standard balogna.

Managed to find it in PDF. 955.06 looks to be page 149 of the PDF.

955.10 even explains that they can kick us out, and seize our weapons.

It would be a nice touch if the person running the Facebook page/group had a better grasp of proper writing technique (capitalization, spelling, etc.). IMO, a big part of successful activism is presenting one's side in a clear and professional manner, so as not to perpetuate the 'dumb redneck gun owner' stereotype.

    Not a bad idea, but....

they can just as a citizen can, the DA or magistrates probably won't take any charges from them though. Our statist courts have usurped the Constitutional power of the sheriff/constable. We need more people in office who have the courage to start to take it back, aided by the people of course.

995.06 deals with Hunting AND Firearms in the parks. Not sure how the city can enforce anything using this, if no hunting is taking place.

    Is Justin the former mazydazy86?

While his spelling and grammar is horrible, and I rib him on it frequently, he does get his point across. I'm going to try and make it back up there for it, I have to wait and see a little closer to the event. I've been helping him all I can since he first showed up here, but with life, kids, a wife, and soon to be 2 jobs, any other help is just a blessing! lol

I am doing all I can do from where I live to help him...
