    Default Colt 6920 worth it?

Hey guys I have an opportunity to buy a colt 6920 ar15 for 1050 otd. I was also looking at the smith and wesson m and p sport model. In your opinion, is the colt worth 300 more really or am I just sipping the kool aid? This will be my first ar15 and buying pretty much for 100 yard range shooting and a just in case rifle. Already owned aks but finally want to take the ar plunge.

M&P is good, Colt is better. I'd say definitely worth the $300 extra, especially in this market.

Yes, the Colt is worth it, and at that price a good deal in today's market. That is pre-Newtown pricing, and while I know they are coming down, it won't get any better than that.

I have both and think they are both good carbines. That said, get the Colt, otherwise you'll always be second guessing yourself.

I got my base model 6920 on October 31st of last year - I get paid on the last day of the month and had my first really healthy OT check. I paid $1145 for it, plus tax and PICS charge and such.

    Never regretted the purchase.

And it's almost done. Just waiting on a Geissele SSA-E trigger group and those sexy new steel Magpul MBUS and I'll be content with it (for now).

Not worth it just for plinking. But when you are talking about, 'just in case,' the peace of mind is priceless.

It's worth it any day over a S&W and it has nothing to do with koolaid.

Is yours picky with ammo or will it run even cheap Russian stuff?
