It used to be improper, if not illegal, to make wearing apparel of or from the United States flag. Is it something that actually officially changed, or is it overlooked for the expressed patriotism it has become?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

A few thoughts on that; I suspect that most of those clothing items are not actually made of of or from a flag but simply screen printed or airbrushed in the image of the flag and that is a dumb law considering it is perfectly legal for someone to burn the flag

Yeah...draping yourself in a real flag like a robe...and a printed stars and stripes pattern are not the same thing. They're not disrespecting an actual flag here.

I think it more comes down to, is the apparel item in question cut out from an actual flag, or a piece of cloth constructed like a flag and in a flag shape? Then I can see it being considered "desecration"; like if you took a cloth napkin-sized flag and used it as a napkin, or a bandana (that caused an "incident" in high school once) I can see some people getting upset. On the flip side, assuming no other materials available, I wouldn't get pissed off if someone used an ACTUAL flag to help carry wounded out of an area, or was used to bandage dangerous wounds on multiple individuals.
