Re: Gun Babe
I caught that story when it was first reported on May 6th. Kudos to the Captain. And who knew the Army had Veterinarians... who need coaching on their muzzle discipline (watch the video).

Re: Gun Babe
I read the article. I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise that it's in a British newspaper & not one of ours. After all, it's a story about achievement & determination. Nowhere is there a mention of transgenders, gays, race or police brutality, so there's no interest here.

Re: Gun Babe
I can recall going to Basic Training in 1987. My recollection was 20 mile full ruck on Saturday that was a requirement. Not bragging as it was not timed and I am no Ranger, but you get the idea.

Re: Gun Babe
My daughter is enlisting this Tuesday....with her MOS goal of veterinary medicine. Vet tech though the Army, University of Pennsyvania after discharge using the education money to complete her final goal of being a vet, both kinds. She's 17 and has a year of HS left, a year of getting physically and emotionally ready for the coming challenges that if used correctly will set the tone for the rest of her life. I'm proud to the point of tears.
When the SHTF......be the fan.

You have every reason to be proud!
Good idea getting in shape beforehand. Before I went to Parris Island in '66, I ran 5 miles every day for three months, did sit ups & push ups galore before going. The physical part ended up being a breeze for me.
Sorry for the thread drift. Back to the Gun Babes!"It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

1. Appears competent and well-trained.
2. Appears happy while on duty.
